Should I use alcohol as an aphrodisiac?

“At first man takes alcohol. Then alcohol takes alcohol. At the end alcohol takes the man” (Chinese, modified)

Although it might seem that alcohol and sex get along “hand in hand” very well, understand that alcohol is NOT aphrodisiac. Unlike the aphrodisiacs, alcohol is psycho-active substance. Alcohol intake provokes acute loss of inhibitory mechanisms that control human behavior. Regularly, these mechanisms origin from so called “higher cortical structures” that are present only in human. Alcohol suppresses these structures and as the result, sexual inhibition is gone. Or in terms of Sigmund Freud model of personality, one can conclude that due to the acute alcohol intake the censorship from Superego is diminished for as long as the alcohol effect lasts. As a result of censorship gone, people find it easier to find sexual partner, commit to “one night stand” and generally feel more comfortable during the sexual intercourse. Not only alcohol is not aphrodisiac: in a long run it will diminish your sexual desire, your penis size, your potency and turn you to heavy alcoholic.
