Even if the erection happens, it’s volume is rather small or modest because hypo plastic effects chronic alcoholism has on penile tissues, devastated smooth muscles that control the amount of blood present in penis, vegetative (autonomous) nervous system changes and cardiomyopathia (heart disease so often present in alcoholics where the heart in not able to supply enough blood to penile or any other tissue).
- suppression of immune system - low quality of diet, bad digestion and intestinal food resorption and poor hygiene is often seen in heavy drinkers. It all affects their immune system globally. Penile semi-mucosis and vaginal mucosis in alcoholics lose both mechanical and biological qualities of immune barriers and let infectious agents more easily into organism.
